When you turn on the TV what do you expect to see? A blue screen. The old tone tester rainbow before cartoons? These days the norm is a menu full of apps that all stream different shows or channels. Even channels have their own streaming services now! So who will win the streaming wars?

So how would you ever choose between them? Or are you more of a all-you-can-eat kind of human? If you are it definitely isn’t as cheap as your local Chinese buffet. Today I wanted to stream a little stream and talk a little talk about the streaming wars. Who’s doing what and why are they doing it?

Let’s talk Disney +, Netflix and Hulu with a little bit of butter on top. This is The Toasty Podcast.

Every service promises the same thing these days. Endless content and limitless possibilities with new shows and movies added daily. Are we entering an era of subscripturation? Sure it’s a made up word, but it definitely has some real meaning in today’s society of subscription based services. How many subscriptions does it take to get to the center of the universe?

Earlier this week I checked out the hyped up Disney + and it isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Although, I bet if you have kids it might be the best thing since the sippy cup. I used to spill every single drink I had when I was a kid, so this is a life saver. So are attention grabbing Disney Movies and that’s about the just of Disney + right now. Of course everyone is talking about the Mandalorian…but what’s next? Will it flop like Apple TV+ is going to? I won’t make too many assumptions, but if you owned all of these streaming services you’d be paying close to $50 per month!

Wowzers. In that case it’s highly likely that people may choose one or two to stick with in the long run. Everyone already has their friend’s Netflix account so now there can only be one…what will it be?
